Designed in 2015, Morado + 100% wool fabric
With his deep-rooted respect for traditional Chinese culture, the Savoir ‘LV’ bed evokes monumental power, while contrasted with smooth lines. Lv Yongzhong took his inspiration from the Chinese ‘LuoHan’ couch, the seat for dignities and masters. Crafted from solid rosewood using the most extraordinary Chinese carpentry skill and the best British craftsmanship, the bed combines tradition with luxurious modern comfort.
The magnificent Santos rosewood bed frame and unusual solid brass feet were handcrafted over a total of 520 hours by Lv Yongzhong and his experienced team in Shanghai, while the bed was upholstered by Savoir in ‘Balder’ wool mix by Kvadrat. Taking over 120 hours of work for the Savoir craftsmen and women, the beds’ boxspring and mattress were handmade in London.
The Lv Yongzhong collaboration marks one of the hand-picked designers Savoir will team up with this year to create an inspired and innovative range of Savoir beds. The list of previous designers includes Nicky Haslam, Virginia White, Philip Gorrivan and Mary Fox Linton, to name a few.
